ID Released For 45-Year-Old Killed After Porsche Crashes Into Pole In Stamford

The identity has been released of a man killed in a single-vehicle crash earlier this week in Fairfield County.

The crash happened around 8:50 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29 in Stamford.

A 2004 Porsche Cayenne was traveling eastbound on Jefferson Street approaching the junction with Magee Avenue when it continued across the intersection, did not negotiate the left curve in the roadway, and struck a City of Stamford traffic light pole, Stamford Police said.

The operator and sole occupant of the vehicle, now identified as Johny Villard, a 45-year-old Stamford resident, suffered critical injuries during the collision. 

He was transported to Stamford Hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

This investigation remains open.
